It’s often the case that the best picture of the day is not the one you go out to take.

Such was the case when I went to the beach area near Pensacola’s beach cross intending to take water or shore bird photographs.

Not seeing anything of interest on the water I turned around to witness this breathtaking sunrise illuminating the cross. It made my day!
