As the sun goes down and the people on the beach head home, ghost crabs start emerging from their subterranean lairs.

This evening they were particularly active. Like they were having a party, which led me to this photograph’s title.

People often ask me how I captured this image and I’m tempted to say, “trained ghost crabs,” just for a laugh. The truth is a little more prosaic. I use a remote controlled camera to get these shots. Seems the crabs are not camera shy, just people shy!
